Utilities

I've found some really cool programs and utilities throughout my many years. Many and most of them are free, and so I'd like to share these with you. These differ from plain links in that they're meant to be downloaded, installed and run from your local machine.

With all of these programs, I'd recommend you download them from Download.com, a cNet website. They verify that they are virus, adware and malware free.

Winamp

I've used Winamp Media Player since I was a Junior in High School. I like it much better than Windows Media Player, and I refuse to use iTunes. I want control over my music, thank you. Anyway. Winamp has tons of plug-ins and add-ons to make it even better. One cool thing with winamp is you can stream your own music collection over the internet. I leave my mp3 player at home now, and listen to my music collection over my phone.

Gizmo Drive

With Gizmo, you can rip cd-rom disks as .iso files, and also run those files as a drive on your computer. I used it to upgrade my netbook from Windows XP home to XP Pro.

PDF X-Change Viewer

Ever wanted to actually type on a PDF, but couldn't? Use this free pdf viewer and do a lot more with your .pdf file that simple Adobe reader doesn't do.
